Paige Gayan: People might associate Calabasas with the Kardashians and other celebrities. Can you share with me what makes this such a desirable area as of late?

Yoav Astman: Calabasas is a tranquil suburb of Los Angeles with a population of approximately 24,000 people. It offers serene mountain views, desirable gated communities and an impressive school district. Calabasas also offers a wide variety of homes to suit anyones needs. From classic ranch style homes to newly constructed mega mansions, there is a perfect property for everyone. The city of Calabasas also offers a private and close-knit community feel. Throughout the year you can expect to encounter block parties, festivals and neighborhood events. Calabasas hot spots include The Commons at Calabasas and the Old Town district which features shopping, dining, and even a museum. It doesn’t matter if you’re single or a family of 6, Calabasas has something for everyone.

PG: Woodland Hills properties are flying off the market. What can people expect from this neighborhood Yoav?

YA: Woodland Hills is the ideal place for homebuyers in search of the perfect balance between an abundance of outdoor recreation activities and shopping and dinning. Plus, it’s only a short drive from some of the county’s best beaches. With plenty of green space and parks, Woodland Hills would be a great fit for a family. Free summer concerts on the green are a must along with a walk down Ventura Blvd. Ventura offers unique restaurants, entertainment, and boutiques. With Woodland Hills you get both the beach and mountains. Some of the areas most frequented beaches are Point Dume State BeachParadise Cove Beach and Broad Beach. Outdoor enthusiasts will also enjoy Topanga Overlook and Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve. No matter what you like to do, you can find it in Woodland Hills.

PG: What sets Hidden Hills apart from it’s next-door sister city, Calabasas?

Hidden Hills

YA: Hidden Hills offers that rural feel while still being close to major amenities. If you like privacy and seclusion, Hidden Hills is the place for you. Home to celebrities like Kim and Kayne, Drake and Miley Cyrus, Hidden Hills exudes a rough-around-the-edges charm. The properties for sale are not run of the mill homes. Each one varies from one another and offer backyards that resemble forests. From private theaters, arenas, tennis courts and pools, residents have some amazing facilities at their fingertips. The community also offers hiking and horse trails as well as mountain biking trails.

PG: Our last neighborhood is West Hills. What should homebuyers expect from this neighborhood?

YA: West Hills offers exceptional hiking trails such as The Simi Hills and El Escorpion park. If hiking isn’t your thing, you can spend time at the nearby Topanga Westfield mall which offers some of the valleys best shopping and dining. You won’t find much nightlife in West Hills which may make it better suited for a family. Featuring some of the areas best parks and schools, families looking for properties should certainly keep their eye on West Hills. With a population of 47,000 West Hills isn’t as secluded as Hidden Hills or Calabasas so keep that in mind.
